TACOMA, Wash. (June 05, 2013) – LeMay – America’s Car Museum (ACM) will host three summer drive-in movies on its outdoor Haub Family Field, beginning June 15 after sunset with the 1985 classic Back to the Future, Michael J. Fox’s first box-office hit, which also starred Christopher Lloyd and an ‘81 DeLorean.
“ACM’s summer drive-ins will give people of all ages a unique chance to relive a major part of American movie lore,” said Scot Keller, ACM chief marketing and communications officer. “We selected Back to the Future as ACM’s first film because the DeLorean is as much a star in the film as it is at ACM, where we feature two models. These cars will be displayed on ACM’s Haub Family Field, giving people a chance to see the real thing in person.”
ACM will have a giant 40-foot movie screen that will allow people to park and watch the movie – free of charge – from their cars or spread out on our lawn with blankets and chairs. Guests can reserve their spot on the Haub Family Field as early as 4:30 p.m.
Museum hours will be extended to 9 p.m., giving visitors more time to enjoy North America’s largest car museum before the movie begins. Additionally, zip-line rides and food will be available for purchase and inflatable bounce houses will be available to children for free.
Future ACM summer series movies include The Flintstones on July 13 and Love Bug on August 17. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
