New Updates:Our Avanti Rescue volunteer crew have been carefully working through the dismantling process and the Avanti had its interior removed including dash, door panels and glass, seats, consol, switches, cables, etc.
James Bell writes:
"The exhaust, transmission, cross member, linkage, drive line, parking brake cables, hill holder, etc are all out from under the car.
Bumpers, emblems, trim, lights and other exterior items have been removed.
The rolling car body and frame is about ready to be transported to the soda blaster.
The tail lights seem to be unusual (possibly prototype).
We found some repaired damage on passenger door. There is some other small places of repair from the past, including the wiper arm pivots, which were a known issue on early cars."
